The ceremony site at Saticoy Country Club is perched high up on a hill overlooking the growing fields.  In the distance is the Pacific Ocean.

The old Roadster was waiting to whisk the newly married bride and groom off to the reception!

Cari of All Occasions Event Planning was busy in the ceremony site getting all the programs ready for the guests.

Manzanita Trees adorned with fresh Orchids were the centerpieces at each table.

I loved the box to collect greetings from all the guests.

Time Travel Themed Wedding Cake

What a fun couple this was.  I knew from the minute the bride and her entourage stepped into my consultation room, this was going to be an exciting wedding.

The theme of the wedding ended up being Time Travel and I incorporated this into the cake design.

The sugar pocket watch complete with a sugar chain fitted into the theme perfectly

(Thanks to my intern Daniel who painstakingly created the chain out of sugar paste)

The Oaks is a  very woodsy area of Calamigos Ranch.  The dining room is paneled in wood with crystal chandeliers hanging from the rafters. 

The groom, groomsmen and many of the wedding party were all decked out for the theme!

How handsome they all looked.

Even the Flower Girls basket had an antique watch attached.

All the seating cards were adorned with some sort of time piece.

Debbie from Floral Fields created amazing centerpieces using antique clocks and timepieces. 

Each one different, each one with so much character.

Sherwood Country Club, located in Thousand Oaks, California is located in a lush valley in the Santa Monica Mountains.  The Hidden Valley is home to many famous movie stars, sports celebrities and politicians.  The home sites include lush horse ranches, tree lined streets with acres of white picket fences.  Behind the gates of Sherwood Country Club properties lies lake front homes and estates with views of the world class golf course.

I had the pleasure of creating Nathan & Stephanie's wedding cake.  Nathan was so great to work with and was always popping in to check out how the design of the cake was going, checking on the sugar bows, dropping off the custom topper. 

He even dropped by on the way to Las Vegas for his bachelor party with all his buddies!

I LOVE when I get a bride and groom who are so in love and have such a sweet story to go along with it. 

This couple met in elementary school and were separated when the grooms family moved to another state.  The bride waited for over 20 years until they found each other again on Facebook.  They started dating and again they knew they were meant to be together. 

I was honored to be able to create their wedding cake for their beautiful wedding reception held at Westlake Village Inn.

Note from the bride & groom:

Dear Lori,  You are not only a wonderful woman but also make incredible cake!!! We have gotten so many compliments on our wedding cake! It was the most beautiful art I have ever seen and it tasted amazing!! The way you decorated it was so beautiful it was criminal to cut into...but I am so glad we did! That was best cake I have ever tasted in my life!!! It was moist and the flavors were just incredible. I can never thank you enough!! You made our day so very special! We are now you biggest fans!!!      Lots of love,  Judy & Dan

Another great story of their 1950's vintage cake topper which was originally used on the brides mother's cake and has been used on every wedding cake in the family since than.

It's always so fun to see the flower girls and bridesmaids, they are always so cute :)

It was the brides father's birthday on the day of the wedding, so we made him a special Syracuse University Orange cake.  I wish I was able to see his expression when he saw it.

Moorpark Country Club Wedding

Moorpark Country Club located in the hills above Moorpark, California is situated overlooking the greens of the private Moorpark golf course.  The morning could not have been more beautiful, the sun was shining and the temperature was starting to rise to make for a beautiful outdoor ceremony.

The wedding cake designed by Pastries By Vreeke was themed after the design of the bride and grooms wedding invitations and the detailing of the brides gown.  The detailing of the dress with the sugar flower turned out beautiful and made the design of the cake so special.

The table cards were so original.  Little corked bottles with dried flowers and a rolled up note to each guest. 

It's always so great to see creative wedding placecards, which makes each wedding reception so unique.

The table numbers were placed inside tiny bottles with dried flowers to tie in with the theme of the table cards.  It must have looked so cute once all the guests arrived and each table was filled with the tiny bottles.

Susan of Flowers By Susan located in Simi Valley, California created beautiful flowers to line the ceremony walkway.  Topiary balls filled with flowers accented the opening to the gazebo where the wedding ceremony was to take place.
