Calamigos December Wedding

Pinecone Themed Wedding
Calamigos Ranch
December 2011

Last wedding cake of 2011

The pine cone wedding cake followed the theme of the wedding.

Note from the bride:
I can't even begin to tell you how amazing our CAKES were! Lori did a fabulous job helping me figure out what I wanted for my pine cone themed wedding and made us the most beautiful, tasty cake imaginable. She also made a fabulous grooms cake shaped like a Broncos garden gnome that no one could believe was actually cake because it was so cool looking. Above and beyond my wildest dreams!! Thank you thank you!

This beautiful brides bouquet was created by Debbie of Floral Fields.
Loved how she incorporated the Pine Cone Theme.

The ceremony site outside of the main dining room at Calamigos Ranch was decked out for the season with fresh Pine Cone garland.  Debbie of Floral Fields is so creative!

Each table was adorned with large glass candle holders and wooden reeds for a winter wonderland theme.

Timmy the Gnome has been brought back to life in the form of Cake.  The groom took the original Gnome when he was deployed to Afghanistan.
Unfortunately Timmy had a casualty while deployed :(

Best Wishes to Talia & Chris!

Calamigos Ranch Wedding

WOW!  Who loves Tree Stumps?
Jodi & Steve :)

I love when a bride comes to me with a vision of her wedding and I get to add to that vision.  When I met with Jodi and she told me of using tree stumps for her flower displays and the beautiful trees at the ceremony, I jumped at the chance to incorporate them into the design of the cake..... amazingly she thought it was a great idea!

Calamigos Ranch, nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains, just a short drive from the Pacific Ocean is such a wonderful place to hold your wedding and reception.  With five areas to have your wedding, there is something for everyone.

Jodi & Steve's cake fit right in with the tree stump theme of there wedding.  Oh, I love these fun cakes!

Note from the bride:
"Lori took her time with me, designing our cake to fit my vision. Finding which flavor to pick was nearly impossible, because they're all good!  The cake looked amazing and was a true point of interest. Everyone complimented on the cake!
I would recommend Pastries by Vreeke to anyone!" ...... Jodi
The girls from Floral Fields did a great job on the centerpieces, creating trees to hold the beautiful flowers

Adding a bit of bling in the trees creates even more elegance!

A Ferris wheel adds to the fun!

Add a foto booth and the excitement continues........

Top it off with a Candy Buffet by Candy By Vreeke

The flower girl's in heaven!

Congratulations to Jody & Steve!

Cutest Cake Topper!!!

Hartley Botanica Wedding

I LOVE delivering cakes when everything is perfect!
From the moment I arrived, and was greeted by the groom and the groomsmen, I felt the magic.

The cake was so refreshing.  The monogram on the bottom tier was copied from the invitations.  The stencil was custom made to also match the invitation. The little yellow balls were carried out in the reception decor.

Note from the bride:
Lori!!  Seriously, amazing and wonderful, just as expected. We had an incredible wedding and feel truly fortunate to have had you on our team. The cake was delicious, everyone was dying over both flavors! Also, the gluten-free gals were in heaven, one of them said it as the best gf cake she has ever had! Everything was just perfect.    With much love and gratitude,   R + L

The groomsmen took pictures of the groom holding the cute custom topper that looked just like them, including their doggie

I couldn't help but snap some pictures of the grooms great shoes and argyle socks

Debbie of Floral Fields is so creative.  The table cards were all hung between two branches, topped with flowers.  Each guest had their own card complete with a pin with their picture on it.  So Creative Debbie!

Each table had a different photograph of the family and friends.  Vintage bottles added to the festive decor.

Leyna & Rory's wedding was definitely perfect.

Time Travel Themed Wedding Cake

Calamigos Ranch - The Oaks
Friday, May 13, 2011

What a fun couple this was.  I knew from the minute the bride and her entourage stepped into my consultation room, this was going to be an exciting wedding.

The theme of the wedding ended up being Time Travel and I incorporated this into the cake design.
The sugar pocket watch complete with a sugar chain fitted into the theme perfectly
(Thanks to my intern Daniel who painstakingly created the chain out of sugar paste)

The Oaks is a  very woodsy area of Calamigos Ranch.  The dining room is paneled in wood with crystal chandeliers hanging from the rafters.

The groom, groomsmen and many of the wedding party were all decked out for the theme!
How handsome they all looked.

Even the Flower Girls basket had an antique watch attached.

All the seating cards were adorned with some sort of time piece.

Debbie from Floral Fields created amazing centerpieces using antique clocks and timepieces.
Each one different, each one with so much character.

Congratulations Jodi & Jessi!

Sherwood Country Club Wedding!

What a beautiful day it was for a wedding. The sun was shining and Sherwood Country Club looked so beautiful, with all its roses in bloom and the green links of the golf course manicured immaculately.

This couple was so sweet and so in love! They both play together on a kickball team, so we wanted to tie in kickball to the wedding.
We custom made the topper to look like the couple, complete with a kickball and their purple jerseys.
Don't all kickball players wear pearls and a bow tie?

Note from the bride
Lori, Our cake was absolutely fabulous!! We wanted to let you know that we had so many friends and family tell us that the cake was beautiful and everyone loved the kickball topper! Thank you so much for making us such a fantastic cake that tasted even better than it looked!!

As we were leaving after setting up the cake, I turned back to look at the cake one last time, and snapped this photograph thru the curtains of the entryway to the dining room.

Oh so beautiful!

Debbie from Floral Fields once again outdid herself with simple but beautiful floral arrangements. The tables were set in whites and greens and it was nice to see this long table for the wedding party.

The black of the floral containers really accentuated the greens and whites of the flowers.

Congratulations to Brittany and Ryan!
