Calamigos Miami Dolphins Fan!

Yet another Calamigos Wedding.  Love that place!!!

This was a fun couple. They came up with a bunch of wording that had to do with their lives together and we piped it all onto the cake. Three hours of piping gets to your wrist after a while, but the final product was worth it.

The groom is a big Miami Dolphins fan so the bride surprised him with a Helmet grooms cake.

Love the remodeled main dining room at Calamigos.
It's so nice and open and no more dark wood walls behind the cake :)

Sparkly crystal topper!

The floral centerpieces really brightened up the tables.  Love all the song titles at each table

Homemade bottled cashews and hot sauce for the guests.
Love how each couple personalize their wedding.

Congrats to the newlyweds!

Liz & Dave

Special thanks go out to Amanda for a delivery well done!

Calamigos December Wedding

Pinecone Themed Wedding
Calamigos Ranch
December 2011

Last wedding cake of 2011

The pine cone wedding cake followed the theme of the wedding.

Note from the bride:
I can't even begin to tell you how amazing our CAKES were! Lori did a fabulous job helping me figure out what I wanted for my pine cone themed wedding and made us the most beautiful, tasty cake imaginable. She also made a fabulous grooms cake shaped like a Broncos garden gnome that no one could believe was actually cake because it was so cool looking. Above and beyond my wildest dreams!! Thank you thank you!

This beautiful brides bouquet was created by Debbie of Floral Fields.
Loved how she incorporated the Pine Cone Theme.

The ceremony site outside of the main dining room at Calamigos Ranch was decked out for the season with fresh Pine Cone garland.  Debbie of Floral Fields is so creative!

Each table was adorned with large glass candle holders and wooden reeds for a winter wonderland theme.

Timmy the Gnome has been brought back to life in the form of Cake.  The groom took the original Gnome when he was deployed to Afghanistan.
Unfortunately Timmy had a casualty while deployed :(

Best Wishes to Talia & Chris!

Vintage Wedding Cakes

Westlake Village Inn Vintage Wedding
April 2, 2011

I LOVE when I get a bride and groom who are so in love and have such a sweet story to go along with it.
This couple met in elementary school and were separated when the grooms family moved to another state.  The bride waited for over 20 years until they found each other again on Facebook.  They started dating and again they knew they were meant to be together.

I was honored to be able to create their wedding cake for their beautiful wedding reception held at Westlake Village Inn.

Note from the bride & groom:
Dear Lori,  You are not only a wonderful woman but also make incredible cake!!! We have gotten so many compliments on our wedding cake! It was the most beautiful art I have ever seen and it tasted amazing!! The way you decorated it was so beautiful it was criminal to cut into...but I am so glad we did! That was best cake I have ever tasted in my life!!! It was moist and the flavors were just incredible. I can never thank you enough!! You made our day so very special! We are now you biggest fans!!!      Lots of love,  Judy & Dan

Another great story of their 1950's vintage cake topper which was originally used on the brides mother's cake and has been used on every wedding cake in the family since than.

It's always so fun to see the flower girls and bridesmaids, they are always so cute :)
It was the brides father's birthday on the day of the wedding, so we made him a special Syracuse University Orange cake.  I wish I was able to see his expression when he saw it.
Happy Birthday David!

Congratulations Dan & Judy!

Combining Beautiful and Fun!

Another great wedding at the Westlake Village Inn.

The ribbon on this cake was also used in all the centerpieces and the coloring and scrolls were taken from the invitations. I love when we can coordinate the cake with the other elements of the wedding and reception.
A quick note from the bride:
Thanks Lori !!! you did such an amazing job ...exceded our expectations :)

The bride wanted to create a fun grooms cake as a surprise to her fiance so when the idea of a replica of his race car came up, I jumped at it.
Congratulations to Katreena & Michael!

Westlake Village Inn Wedding!

February 13, 2010
Another great wedding and couple get's married at Westlake Village Inn.
Emma & Alen were a really fun couple, both graduating from USC, now living in San Jose, this couple knew exactly what they wanted for thier wedding and grooms cake.

Another beautiful topper from Toppers With Glitz
USC Tommy Trojan Statue!

Tommy Trojan was made out of modeling chocolate and the base was a chocolate fudge carmel cake covered in modeling chocolate....... Yummy!
Michelle did a great job modeling him......... thanks Michelle!

The dining room is always so beautiful at Westlake Village Inn. The view from the back wall of windows is breathtaking with the view of the golf green and the lake filled with ducks and swans.

Even the view looking up at the ceiling is beautiful with all the crystal chandeliers.

Lot's of Bling makes for a beautiful reception!

Sabrina & Lars' Wedding

My latest cake was really a lot of fun not only to create but to deliver and put together. This couple was one of the friendliest couples I have met. Not only are the bride and groom wonderful but their parents are great also!
Both families are into dirt bike riding and when Lars mentioned he wanted a grooms cake, I jumped on the chance to create something fun. Why not roost Sabrina's beautiful blinged out wedding cake with a knobby tire completely made out of edible materials. The tire was a chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream, the knobbys were nuggets of chocolate. The entire cake was covered in chocolate fondant airbrushed black. The spokes were made out of a hollow spaghetti and the sprocket & brake was a hardened sugar paste.

This cake was delivered to Hartley Botanica. and as always, the reception looked amazing, thanks to Jennifer at Belle of the Ball Designs

Here's the work in progress! Jennifer is having a great time hamming it up for the camera, threatening to eat the chocolate nuggets we used for the knobbies.
