Note from the bride:

Peter and I went to numerous bakeries before we had our appointment with Lori. When we met with Lori, we knew she was "the one". We didn't have any idea how we wanted our cake. Based on a couple questions Lori had asked us,  Lori mocked up a design and we LOVED it.  To top it off, we loved how her cake tasted.  Our wedding cake was simple, yet unique and that's exactly what we wanted. We can't wait to use Lori for our future family events.

 Floor lighting is such a fun addition to add to the dance floor. 

Sherwood Country Club, located in Thousand Oaks, California is located in a lush valley in the Santa Monica Mountains.  The Hidden Valley is home to many famous movie stars, sports celebrities and politicians.  The home sites include lush horse ranches, tree lined streets with acres of white picket fences.  Behind the gates of Sherwood Country Club properties lies lake front homes and estates with views of the world class golf course.

I had the pleasure of creating Nathan & Stephanie's wedding cake.  Nathan was so great to work with and was always popping in to check out how the design of the cake was going, checking on the sugar bows, dropping off the custom topper. 

He even dropped by on the way to Las Vegas for his bachelor party with all his buddies!

Sherwood Country Club Wedding!

What a beautiful day it was for a wedding. The sun was shining and Sherwood Country Club looked so beautiful, with all its roses in bloom and the green links of the golf course manicured immaculately.

This couple was so sweet and so in love! They both play together on a kickball team, so we wanted to tie in kickball to the wedding.

We custom made the topper to look like the couple, complete with a kickball and their purple jerseys.

Don't all kickball players wear pearls and a bow tie?

Note from the bride
Lori, Our cake was absolutely fabulous!! We wanted to let you know that we had so many friends and family tell us that the cake was beautiful and everyone loved the kickball topper! Thank you so much for making us such a fantastic cake that tasted even better than it looked!!

As we were leaving after setting up the cake, I turned back to look at the cake one last time, and snapped this photograph thru the curtains of the entryway to the dining room.

Oh so beautiful!

Debbie from Floral Fields once again outdid herself with simple but beautiful floral arrangements. The tables were set in whites and greens and it was nice to see this long table for the wedding party.

The black of the floral containers really accentuated the greens and whites of the flowers.

Weddings at Sherwood Country Club are always so beautiful. Not only is the property amazing in itself, but the surrounding area and views are incredible

Note from the bride:
Everything about Lori and her cakes is absolutely amazing! We had a difficult time deciding on a flavor because they were all so good! Lori took inspiration from our invitations to design our cake...I have to say, it was more than I ever imagined. All the guests kept commenting on how beautiful the cake was. I really appreciate how much attention Lori showed me when I was explaining the look I wanted. It was very clear she listen to every little detail. I also was not able to taste the cake, however we did save our Anniversary tier. We actually ended up eating it the next day with my parents since none of us had a chance to taste it that night. Amazing 100 times over!

Luna Gardens did their magic with the flowers once again. They always do such an incredible job making the reception look like a fairytale.

We absolutely loved it and could not have dreamed up something more perfect ourselves. It was beautiful and fit very well with our theme..... thank you for helping make our day so special. My only regret is that we were not able to sit down and enjoy even more of it..... all our guests said it was tasty and I wish I could have had more than a few bites.

King Dahl Designs adorned the cake with fresh flowers, giving it the final touches.

Rose Cake & Mario Cake at Sherwood Country Club

Yet another great wedding at Sherwood Country Club. I love it when I get to create two amazing cakes for one wedding. Not only does the bride get to pick the exact design to complement the reception, but the groom gets to create something fun also!

This cake is covered in sugar rose petals! This picture doesn't show off the stand, but it is held up with four tall glass vases that are filled with water and orchids and lit from the bottom. Belle of the Ball Designs did another outstanding job with the display and flowers.

Toppers with Glitz always creates the most beautiful toppers for my Brides. I am so lucky to be able to refer them to Sari of Toppers with Glitz.

Yet Another Beautiful Wedding at Sherwood Country Club

This was a modern looking cake with clear acrylic blocks separating the tiers and an acrylic cake stand which allowed you to look under the cake at all the hydrangeas. Hydrangea bunches were placed between the tiers in small bunches but still allowing you to view thru the cake. The cake design was created to tie in with the decorations at the reception. The chairs were clear acrylic and the floral displays were all set in square vases.

"Lori Vreeke was my lifesaver. We had to change who was making our cake at the last minute and we were referred to Pastries By Vreeke. Lori's great ideas and enthusiasm to make my modern cake made my mom and I super excited to see the finished product. I absolutely loved the clear blocks separating our tiers it was like nothing I had ever seen before at any other weddings. My husband and I have heard nothing but raves from people who have seen pictures of it. We can't thank you enough Lori, you're the best!" -Chelsea

Busiest Weeks of the Summer!

Whew, this has been two extremely busy weeks working 4 decorators really long hours. In the past two weeks, we have created 7 wedding cakes. I couldn't have done it without the help from Jennifer, Shawna & Lo.

Our wedding cake was amazing! It was the perfect match for our summer wedding.. Lori put tons of TLC into it.. her strawberry shortcake, and banana was so good.. We want more.. her touch with the limes, was a big hit.. our cake really pulled everything together..

Swarovski Crystal Topper by Toppers with Glitz!

Note from the Newlyweds:

In short, Lori V is a miracle worker. Two weeks before The Big Day, we were told that our venue's pastry chef was no longer going to be working for the country club. Luckily, they handed us over to Lori with good faith that she would be able to create what we wanted. Understandably, we were a bit nervous that Lori only had several days to hear our requests and make it all happen. But I have to say, she floored us! She created an absolute masterpiece. I was literally almost brought to tears when we walked into our reception hall the night of the wedding and saw our gorgeous cake. I highly recommend Lori to any bride and groom who want an absolutely perfectly gorgeous and delicious cake for their event. Thank you so much, Lori, for your professionalism, sense of humor, creativity, and talent. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with you. - Thank you, Lori :-)

I named this cake "The Big Cheese". This reception really had a great theme going with the yellow and brown polka dots. From the table cards to the floral decorations. Jennifer from Belle of the Ball Floral Designs outdid herself once again.
