Calamigos Miami Dolphins Fan!

Yet another Calamigos Wedding.  Love that place!!!

This was a fun couple. They came up with a bunch of wording that had to do with their lives together and we piped it all onto the cake. Three hours of piping gets to your wrist after a while, but the final product was worth it.

The groom is a big Miami Dolphins fan so the bride surprised him with a Helmet grooms cake.

Love the remodeled main dining room at Calamigos.
It's so nice and open and no more dark wood walls behind the cake :)

Sparkly crystal topper!

The floral centerpieces really brightened up the tables.  Love all the song titles at each table

Homemade bottled cashews and hot sauce for the guests.
Love how each couple personalize their wedding.

Congrats to the newlyweds!

Liz & Dave

Special thanks go out to Amanda for a delivery well done!

Crystal Cake Stand and Crystal spacer

Note from the bride:
There are tons of people who can make a cake for your wedding - believe me, I went to so many cake tastings that I must have gained a few pounds. I had a vision of an extravagant cake that would be the talk of the town... It was hard to feel completely confident in the bakers I met with until I found my gem in Westlake, and that gem is Lori Vreeke... After viewing her website I knew I found the wonderful lady who I gave the privilege of designing my dream wedding cake. Everything was perfect from the delicious flavor of the cake to the elegant design. Lori makes cake dreams come true... Mrs.  Nesbitt (gotta get used to that one....   :)

Loved the sugar bow on top of the sugar crystal tier.

Sweetheart table xoxoox

Love the Rustic Charm of the Oaks!

In leu of floral centerpieces, the tables had wonderful iron candle holders.
Each one a bit different.

The outdoor ceremony site with waterfall backdrop

The Harpest was all set up and ready to go!

I love how everytime I deliver a cake to Calamigos Ranch, the sites always look different and bring out the personalities of each bride and groom.

Congrats to the Happy Couple and their families!

Wedding Dresses of Germany

One of my favorite things is checking out the different styles of wedding dresses around the world.
I'm always in search for the wedding shops while on vacation in other countries.

This year it was Germany!

All the styles of dresses were similar to the dresses found in the United States.

What was great were the men's suits!

Very European Looking! Would love to see the men in suits like this!

Average Dress and suit for men.

Here's a fun one!

Though these are not brides, I love the umbrella girls at the motorcycle races!

Happy Summertime Friends!

Saddle Peak Lodge Wedding

Nestled deep in Malibu Canyon is Saddle Peak Lodge.  For over 100 years, Saddle Peak Lodge got it's start as a way-stop and general store along a rugged mountain trail.  Today the Lodge is home to a world class restaurant hosting many weddings and special occasions.

Ken and Kim had a wonderful reception at the lodge surrounded with friends and family.

The beautiful cake was piped in filigree and Swiss dots with a custom sugar monogram.
(This picture is hard to see all the details, but hopefully the photographer will send me some good shots)

The lodge if filled with taxidermy deer and animals and the florist dressed them for the occasion.

The grounds of Saddle Peak Lodge is filled with old items from the past.

All the details of the wedding were designed specifically for the venue.  So much fun!

The flowers were Oh So Beautiful, just like the bride!

Congratulations Ken & Kim
So happy for you both!

Rancho del Cielo

Ranch in the Sky Wedding!

Rancho del Cielo is perched on a mountain top in Malibu, California high above Pacific Coast Highway.

This White Chocolate Lemon Raspberry Cake was adorned with beautiful fresh flowers to match the centerpieces and decorations of the reception.

The cake was decorated with fondant swirls in pale white, pink and violet.

Hundreds of fresh flowers waiting to be placed on the tables.
Flowers by: Marion Curson Floral Design

The ceremony site has an amazing view of the coastline and Pacific Ocean.

The reception site has both a view of the ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains.

Loved the custom card box for the bride and groom.

Oh and how cute is this little man!

Some of the groomsmen having a laugh before the fun begins!

Just had to get a picture of the grooms shiny shoes and my cute pink shoes!

Rancho del Cielo is a really a special place to start your lives together.

Congratulations Elizabeth & John

The Mountain Mermaid

Went to a wonderful new venue this past Saturday in Topanga, California.
It is one of those locations way deep in the canyon, you would never know was there.

The Mountain Mermaid was originally built in the 1930's as a Country Club, later it became a gambling house, then a gay night club and on and on it went.  More history can be found on their website

Three individual cakes were created all with applique flowers.  The 3-tier cake had a lime green tint to it to coordinate with the color scheme.

The main room of the house is used for the dining room, as you can see there is a lot of character and so many colors can be incorporated into the decorating.

The escort cards were all framed in little antique frames for the guests to keep.

This antique bird cage was draped in foto's of the bride and groom.

The venue was full of mermaid items.  This bust of a mermaid was safely stored in a glass case.

Congratulations to the happy couple......
Katharina & James!
