Combining Beautiful and Fun!

Another great wedding at the Westlake Village Inn.

The ribbon on this cake was also used in all the centerpieces and the coloring and scrolls were taken from the invitations. I love when we can coordinate the cake with the other elements of the wedding and reception.
A quick note from the bride:
Thanks Lori !!! you did such an amazing job ...exceded our expectations :)

The bride wanted to create a fun grooms cake as a surprise to her fiance so when the idea of a replica of his race car came up, I jumped at it.
Congratulations to Katreena & Michael!

The Marriott Warner Center!

The Wedding of Sonyia & Jimmy - June 5th, 2010

Its always such an honor to be able to make a dream wedding cake for such a wonderful couple.

It took 32 pans of cake and many hours to create this beautiful cake.
The cake served 600 guests.

The color was created to match the color of the bridesmaids dresses.

The broaches adorning the cake matched the broaches on the wedding invitations.

The monogram of the newlyweds!
This cake is one of my favorites of the season

The grand ballroom of the Marriott in Warner Center, California was beautiful. The centerpieces were amazing and the ballroom was draped in cream to create a beautiful backdrop.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!

The Big Bark Mitzvah!

I was lucky enough to be able to create 13 sculpted dog cakes for Melanie's Bat Mitzvah at Moorpark Country Club. When Melanie's mom contacted me and told me about the dog theme for this event, the wheels started turning and I thought what fun to have different dogs at each table as centerpieces. They provided me with all the breeds and names for all the dogs and we immediately went to work, creating dog collars, noses, dog nails and everything we could to get a jump on this order.
We were than contacted by a production company for TLC to tape the creation of the dogs for an upcoming cake series. Unfortunately one week prior to taping, they decided they wanted one large cake for the show, so our dogs were turned down for stardom.
It took us three days of constant work to bake the cakes, sculpt the dogs and decorate them, having up to 5 people working at the bakery. The last day, myself, Jennifer and Michelle worked until 10:30pm to get them all done, boxed up and put in the refrigerator until delivery the following day.

Cal Lutheran University Senior Showcase

The brochure from the Senior Art show. Showcasing the graduating class of 2010

One of Jennifer's art projects was an art cake that she created and displayed at the opening reception of the CLU Senior Showcase. The cake was served up to all the guests. To bad we had to ruin such a great piece of art!

April Weddings at Sherwood Country Club

Weddings at Sherwood Country Club are always so beautiful. Not only is the property amazing in itself, but the surrounding area and views are incredible
April 24th, 2010

This cake was designed from the couples wedding invitations.

Note from the bride:
Everything about Lori and her cakes is absolutely amazing! We had a difficult time deciding on a flavor because they were all so good! Lori took inspiration from our invitations to design our cake...I have to say, it was more than I ever imagined. All the guests kept commenting on how beautiful the cake was. I really appreciate how much attention Lori showed me when I was explaining the look I wanted. It was very clear she listen to every little detail. I also was not able to taste the cake, however we did save our Anniversary tier. We actually ended up eating it the next day with my parents since none of us had a chance to taste it that night. Amazing 100 times over!

Luna Gardens did their magic with the flowers once again. They always do such an incredible job making the reception look like a fairytale.

Note from the bride: " Thank you so much for the BEAUTIFUL CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We absolutely loved it and could not have dreamed up something more perfect ourselves. It was beautiful and fit very well with our theme..... thank you for helping make our day so special. My only regret is that we were not able to sit down and enjoy even more of it..... all our guests said it was tasty and I wish I could have had more than a few bites.

Thanks again for everything... it really was the perfect cake!" Kimberly

King Dahl Designs adorned the cake with fresh flowers, giving it the final touches.

I wish I had taken photographs of the banquet room, everything looked beautiful!

The Oaks at Calamigos Ranch

Brittany & Tylers Wedding at The Oaks of Calamigos Ranch

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

Calamigos is such a great venue to have a wedding, with so many different areas. The Oaks is more of a rustic yet elegant area, complete with twinkiling lights and crystal chandellers.

Their cake was a white fondant cake with stenciling to match their invitations and frest flowers to match their centerpieces.

As usual, the girls from Belle of the Ball Floral Designs did a wonderful job with pink roses on all the tables and rose petals covering the cake table and procession walkway.
