Westlake Village Inn Wedding!

February 13, 2010
Another great wedding and couple get's married at Westlake Village Inn.
Emma & Alen were a really fun couple, both graduating from USC, now living in San Jose, this couple knew exactly what they wanted for thier wedding and grooms cake.

Another beautiful topper from Toppers With Glitz
USC Tommy Trojan Statue!

Tommy Trojan was made out of modeling chocolate and the base was a chocolate fudge carmel cake covered in modeling chocolate....... Yummy!
Michelle did a great job modeling him......... thanks Michelle!

The dining room is always so beautiful at Westlake Village Inn. The view from the back wall of windows is breathtaking with the view of the golf green and the lake filled with ducks and swans.

Even the view looking up at the ceiling is beautiful with all the crystal chandeliers.

Lot's of Bling makes for a beautiful reception!

Ultimate Cake Off!

Pastries By Vreeke was lucky enough to be a member of Team Colette Peters on TLC's Ultimate Cake Off. Our winning cake was center stage at Griffith Observatory's 75th Anniversary!

All that hard work paid off when the winner was announced!

The Yellow Team - Richard Medina, Lori Vreeke, Collete Peters & Adrian Theopolis

Lori, starting the motors before it faced the judges!

Colette always has a great time doing what she does best.... decorating a cake!

Gotta love her :)

All the little cars are on the drive up to the observatory for the big party!

The chocolate astronomers are keeping watch on all that cake!

Colette hand painted the astrology signs

The swinging pendulum was modeled from the actual pendulum in the observatory.

James Dean & Einstein. Colette is truly amazing at carving these characters and makiing molds for us to reproduce.

75 wonderful years of Griffith Observatory is celebrated.

Blown sugar planets topped the cake at 6' tall.

I have been going up to the Griffith Observatory since I was a small girl, looking up at the stars, wondering what is up there. Since then, I have brought my children to experience the observatory and most recently was lucky enough to share the observatory with Colette.

Everyone should see this place, it's great!

These guys do a great job loading up the cake for transport to the Observatory!

Lori and Jennifer having a blast at the 75th Gala Event! Thanks TLC for another great episode of the Ultimate Cake Off!

Keep watching future episodes of the Cake-Off.........

I'll be back

Rose Cake & Mario Cake at Sherwood Country Club

Yet another great wedding at Sherwood Country Club. I love it when I get to create two amazing cakes for one wedding. Not only does the bride get to pick the exact design to complement the reception, but the groom gets to create something fun also!

This cake is covered in sugar rose petals! This picture doesn't show off the stand, but it is held up with four tall glass vases that are filled with water and orchids and lit from the bottom. Belle of the Ball Designs did another outstanding job with the display and flowers.

Toppers with Glitz always creates the most beautiful toppers for my Brides. I am so lucky to be able to refer them to Sari of Toppers with Glitz.

Note from the bride:
"Our wedding cake and grooms cake were absolute masterpieces. The details on each cake were amazing and we can't begin to tell you how many compliments we've heard all week about how great the cakes tasted. Lori, we will definitely be working with you again and again. Thank you for all your hard work. Jenn"

This couple loves to play Mario Brothers!

We created a fun cake with all the Mario characters, complete with bride and groom Piranha

Cake Cruise 2009 to Mexico

What could be better that spending a week cruising the Mexican riviera with 140+ cake friends. December 2009 the California Cake Club hosted the annual Cake Cruise aboard the Oosterdam, featuring cake demos, classes and the newest, cake challenge. We all had a fantastic time, met a lot of new cake friends and had a blast with all the events. Oh and the ports of Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta & Cabo San Lucas were great also.
